Ange Postocoglou
Ange started his playing career with South Melbourne Soccer Club in the National League in 1984. He Captained this side from 1988-1992. He’s been an Australian Youth Representative at the 1985 World Cup in Russia and played with the Socceroos from 1986-1989.
His coaching career began as a Senior Coach for the Western Suburbs (who are a part of the Victorian League) in 1993. He was the Assistant Coach of the Socceroos for 4 years leading up to the 2004 Athens Olympics.
In 2000 he became the Australian National Youth Coach for under 17’s and under 20’s.
He was successful as a coach in 2001, 2003 and 2005 when his teams in the under 17’s and 20’s were successful in the Oceania Championships and well as making the FINA World Cup finals These teams have also won tournaments in South America and Asia.
Ange has a weekly column in the Melbourne Herald Sun and also appears on Fox Sports as an analyst. He is also a presenter on Radio SEN 1163AM in Melbourne.
