Sharelle McMahon

From an early age Sharelle has had a strong ability to remain calm and focused under pressure and since her debut in the Australian team in 1998 she has not looked back.

As well as being a very fast player, she is known as a great ‘finisher’ with high accuracy and strong composure in tense situations.

Despite serious ankle injuries she has continued to play with Melbourne Phoenix, adding five premierships to her achievements and being named Captain of the silver medal-winning Australian Commonwealth Games team in 2006.

She was Co-Captain with Liz Ellis in the series against New Zealand in late 2006. A brilliant team player, she also understands the frustrations of having to watch from the sidelines because of injury.
